How individuals and corporate plug into the bigger picture of a better ecosystem in realizing smart cities is the responsibility poised to the Kenyan society today.

During the IoT & AI Summit held in Nairobi, Konza City was termed the ‘dream of Africa’ in its realization.

“The smart city will connect human capital, social capital and ICT infrastructure, which is the ultimate goal of any Smart City.” Engineer John Tanui, CEO Konza Metropolis. He also said that Konza will have a vibrant mix of businesses and workers, residents and urban amenities, and innovation ecosystem in IT/ITES, Engineering & Life Sciences

This city will increase the quality of life for its residents by improving the efficiency of the existing and new infrastructure and by using Information and Communication Technologies as a mean to achieve its objectives.

“The Internet of Everything brings together people, process, data and things to make networked connections more relevant and valuable than ever before, turning information into actions that create new capabilities, richer experiences unprecedented economic opportunity for businesses, individuals and countries and now, Konza smart City.” Eng. Tanui

Whereas traditional cities addressed services in Silos that discourages the sharing of infrastructure costs and IT resources, Konza technology is harnessing the IoT & AI for better value proposition that will better service provision by sharing intelligent information. Smart economy, smart people, smart infrastructure, smart environment. Literally, smart living.
