The Ministry of Communications & Information Technology of Azerbaijan is conducting work to ensure the use of paid electronic services provided on the basis of information system e-government.

According to the MCIT, all e-services rendered and created by governmental agencies will be transferred to single portal e-government, which is currently at stage of development and will be ready soon.

"The goal of creating a single portal is to reduce the number of documents required from citizens due to establishing a system of electronic flow of documents. The portal is based on the principles of X-Road system to connect the systems built on different platforms with existing information systems," the Ministry said.

To date, the Ministry of Justice, of Labour & Social Security, of Taxes, the State Customs Committee, and the State Entrepreneurship Support Fund have been connected to e-government system. Work is also underway on connection of the Ministries of Education and of Health to this system. These ministries have been installed servers and information security systems. Work on coordination of services and information data in the system is being carried out as well.
