Mauritius e-Government portals platform, which includes the government's internet, intranet portals, and a large set of e-services, was unveiled during a recent launching event by the Mauritian Minister of ICT.
LINK Development has optimized the new e-Government portal to include over 130 internet and 25 intranet portals for Ministries and government entities as well as a large set of e-services based on a central e-services workflow management system. An automated workflow management system enables the government to deliver faster e-services to users, thereby reducing costs of operations to deliver those services. The new platform uses the latest and powerful technology of SharePoint, FAST and K2 to deliver a homogeneous platform that allows scalability and dramatically reduces cost of ownership.
The new government platform is designed according to the latest industry standards with the aim to achieve higher international ranking for Mauritius in the Government Development Index (GDI) and the e-Participation Index, to help attract new foreign investments to the country.
Commending LINK Development for its contributions in developing the e-Government platform, Mr. Dan Faugoo, Executive Director at the National Computer Board said: "The government portal aims at bringing the government closer to the people by providing accessible and integrated online public services whilst enabling end users to decide freely when, from where and how to interact with the government on a 24 hours a day, throughout the year basis."

The new e-Government portal platform provides comprehensive information and delivers integrated services that are accessible by citizens, ministries, businesses and investors any time. Moreover, to enhance employee workflow efficiency and government-to-government collaboration, LINK Development designed an intranet and intranet portal templates with multiple themes and flexible layout to be customized for the different ministries and departments.
