The Prime Minister, Head of Government Philemon Yang, has announced government`s intention to introduce electronic administration in the country in order to modernise management of state affairs.

Prime Minister Yang was talking this Thursday 27th November 2014 at the Star Building in Yaounde as he chaired a government seminar to scrutinise strategies on the development e-government.

On the occasion, the stakes and challenges of the electronic governance in the public administration were addressed.

Mr Yang said telemedicine will be introduce in the Public Health sector, e-government in the Ministries of Public service, Finance as well as Small and Medium Size enterprises.

The Prime Minister exhorted his collaborators to understand the fast and reliable nature of the innovation, noting that countries like the US, the UK many others have experienced development after adopting the system.

The Secretary General in the Prime Minister`s Office, Louis Paul Motaze on his part, noted that electronic administration will for instance help a debtor in the Ministry of Finance to pay his debts from his office.

Mr Motaze further said a student can equally interact with his lecturers and classmates in a matter of seconds through e-learning.

The Secretary General in the PM`s Office added that the formulation of the National Strategy is one of the first steps necessary in enhancing and effecting public administration in Cameroon.

The Prime Minister gave instructions that a seminar to update Secretary Generals of all Ministries on the new policy be organised.
