Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Minister of Finance Johnny Koanapo says the Government of Vanuatu is moving toward major digital transformation of public services with the launch of a new QR code payment system designed to make government services more accessible, secure, and efficient for citizens across the country.
Speaking on the first day of Digital Week Vanuatu 2026 yesterday, Mr. Koanapo said the launch marks another milestone for the Ministry of Finance and Economic Management (MoFEM), with a new payment option now available at government cashier offices. The initiative will begin with the Civil Registry and Identity Management Department and the Department of Finance and Treasury before gradually expanding to other government departments that provide essential public services.
