It pips nine other sample countries in effectiveness of digital applications

Singapore has taken the pole position among the 10 countries in Accenture's new study on how governments use digital applications to engage citizens.

The study, "Digital Government Pathways to Delivering Public Services for the Future", measured the effectiveness of 10 sample countries in various digital applications from offering online portals to access public services as well as employing digital channels and social media to communicate and engage with citizens.

The other countries were Brazil, Germany, India, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, Norway, the United Arab Emirates and the United States.

The overall ranking is based on three main components, of which Citizen Satisfaction Survey (CSS) carries a weight of 40 per cent, Service Maturity 10 per cent and Service Delivery Experience 50 per cent.
