Transforming Government since 2001

The CIO Council recently released a searchable database of public laws, executive orders, memos and other documents from the White House budget office in what it's calling an IT Policy Library.

The so-called library can be found on CIO.gov and was developed in collaboration with the Office of Management and Budget's Office of E-Government and the General Services Administration.

The library is an A to Z collection of information from the landmark Digital Accountability and Transparency Act of 2014 designed to bring greater transparency, consistency and accuracy into federal government to OMB circulars to various White House memoranda to transition to IPv6.

When users click on a particular document, they get information such as the type of document, the date it was released, whether any action or reporting is required and if anything is required of small agencies.

The CIO Council said in a brief March 16 announcement that the library is intended to be a resource of the wide range of IT reporting requirements and actions. It will be updated periodically as policy requirements change.

The council didn't indicate just how much information is in the database.
