    Adobe unterstützt in seinen Produkten digitale Signaturen zum Zertifizieren von Dokumenten. Den dazu notwendigen privaten Schlüssel will IBM nun mit Unterstützung von Adobe in seinem Embedded Security Subsystem (ESS) verwalten.
  • IN: Bandaru Dattatreya Launches Digital Signature Based Online Registration Of Establishments

    Mr. Bandaru Dattatreya, Union Minister for Labour & Employment (Independent Charge) launched the Digital Signatures based Online Registration of Establishments (OLRE) in a function held in Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation, Head Office on November 24.

    Explaining the process in detail, the Minister informed that the online registration will be done once the applicant employer registers himself on the OLRE Portal.

    Digital Signature Certificates (DSC) are the digital equivalent (that is electronic format) of physical or paper certificates. Examples of physical certificates are drivers' licenses, passports or membership cards. Certificates serve as proof of identity of an individual for a certain purpose; for example, a driver's license identifies someone who can legally drive in a particular country. Likewise, a digital certificate can be presented electronically to prove your identity, to access information or services on the Internet or to sign certain documents digitally. Like physical documents are signed manually, electronic documents, for example e-forms are required to be signed digitally using a Digital Signature Certificate.

    IT Secretary directs educational institutions to accept e-documents

    While the Tamil Nadu government is keen on giving a push to e-governance, educational institutions are yet to recognise the digital face of governance.

    Ahead of the hectic admission season, the government has asked Collectors and all Secretaries to instruct the heads of departments under their control to accept digitally signed certificates issued by the competent authorities through e-district portal.

    In a bid to further boost Digital India initiative, eMudhra, a digital identity and transaction management company has partnered with 15 state governments to help them go digital in the context of the e-Governance initiatives.

    Under the initiative, eMudhra has enabled AADHAAR eSign and Digital signature based signing to various government officers in several districts of these states. This has facilitated paperless employee logins, leave requests, memos and official document signing etc.

    The Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has appealed to establishments to furnish electronically authenticated records through use of digital signature (class 2 and above) while submitting statutory returns, claim forms, and requests of other services.

    To ensure safety of digital signatures, Efforts are on to incorproate it in Mobile connections, Dr V Vijayaditya, Controller of Certifying Authorities (CCA), Department of Information Technology, Government of India, today said.

    'We are trying to introduce a proxy SIM which will have the digital signature. It will have a co-processor which will generate a private and public key..', Vijayaditya told reporters here.

    A prototype of the proxy SIM has been developed by one of the vendors and approval will be taken from the RBI, he said.

    The Ministry of Company Affairs (MCA) is implementing one of the largest e-governance projects, the MCA21.     Finishing most paperwork and transactions will be easier through a new project launched yesterday by the Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI). It’s the Electronic Signature project. The electronic signature system is one of the basic infrastructure of the e-government. “This system allows the public and private sector to expand the services they provide for the public through their websites on internet and electronic services. PACI is responsible for verifying the identity of individuals through the Civil ID card, which is stuck to them in all their paperwork.

    As the different public and private institutions are now providing their services through the internet and electronic media, and in order to go along with the modern technology and the large use of internet and electronic dealing, led PACI to do its role in verifying the ID of the users through the electronic signature project throughout the smart ID card,” said Director General of PACI Mosaed Al-Asousi yesterday. This project consists of two parts; the electronic certification and a secret number. “PACI will issue a certificate of electronic verification, which will be saved in the electronic chip of the smart ID.
