Ab dem 1. September verantwortet Christoph Bellmer (40) im Executive Board von T- Systems die Industry Line "Public & Healthcare", die Lösungen für Großkunden der Öffentlichen Verwaltung und des Gesundheitswesens entwickelt. Bellmer war zuletzt Geschäftsführer bei dem Venture- Capital- Unternehmen b-business Partners. Zuvor war Bellmer bei dem IT- Dienstleister GE-CompuNet tätig, der heute CC CompuNet heißt. Der ausgebildete Elektroingenieur übte dort seit 1992 unterschiedliche Managementfunktionen aus, und war zuletzt als Mitglied des Vorstandes für den Vertrieb verantwortlich.

Of the central government respondents in a survey conducted by market advisory firm IDC, 22 per cent said that they will grow spending for new initiatives, while less than ten per cent of them expect to grow spending on maintenance and upgrades. Demand for external services is also expected to grow, with 28 per cent of central government and 18 per cent of local government executives indicating that the share of IT that they source from external vendors will grow in 2005.

ICT suppliers appear ready to take on work to further the government’s digital and e-government strategies, but representatives at a State Services Commission networking breakfast last week were still sceptical.

The principal areas of concern are supply and demand for skills and the amount of work involved in preparing bids for government contracts.

The Government ICT Strategic Implementation Plan (SIP) was revealed by cabinet office minister Francis Maude.

The government insists it will save £1.4 billion on IT costs within four years, and improve the quality of online services. Some of the savings are expected to come from better procurement, a move to cloud computing, data centre consolidation, and the public sector network (PSN).

Während Umsätze in den klassischen Geschäftssegmenten wie z. B. bei Internet-Routern bestenfalls stagnieren, will der US-Konzern Cisco nun verstärkt in den öffentlichen Bereich. Carlo Wolf, Österreich- Chef des Netzwerkausrüsters, nennt den "Public Sector" eines der am stärksten wachsenden Segmente in der IKT-Branche. Wolf: "Die Wachstumsraten in Österreich im Geschäft mit Behörden liegen bei 40 Prozent." Bereits jetzt entfallen 20 Prozent des Cisco Österreich-Umsatzes, den Branchenkenner auf rund 130 Millionen Euro schätzen, auf den öffentlichen Bereich.

Das Bundeskanzleramt verleihte der Bürgerkarten-Software trustDesk von IT Solution das E-Government-Gütesiegel, die Kennzeichnung für sicheres und vertrauenswürdiges E-Government.

Der grenzüberschreitende Auskunftsdienst ermöglicht den einheitlichen Online-Zugriff auf Melderegister in verschiedenen europäischen Ländern nach höchsten Sicherheitsstandards. Unternehmen und Bürger werden in Zukunft mit RISER eine der am häufigsten nachgefragten öffentlichen Dienstleistungen über das Internet einfach, sicher und kostengünstig abrufen können. Bereits im Sommer soll der Pilot-Betrieb zwischen Deutschland, Österreich und Irland beginnen. Die Europäische Kommission unterstützt RISER mit rund einer Million Euro im Rahmen des eTEN-Programms.

Reach, the Irish Government agency established to integrate public services in an electronic environment, today announced that BearingPoint Ireland, Limited, the wholly owned subsidiary of BearingPoint, Inc. This follows the selection of BearingPoint as preferred bidder in December 2003 and the completion of the initial preparatory phases of the project. reachservices is a key e- Government initiative for Ireland that will offer a radically improved level of service for both private citizens and businesses.

US healthcare IT market is witnessing significant growth from the past few years. The market is propelling on the back of rising number of E-health services in the country. The use of E-health services is increasing due to rising penetration of internet and broadband in the country. Further, the E-health market is performing on the back of rising adoption of market components, such as EHRs/EMRs, health information exchanges (HIE) and e-Prescription. In addition, the government is also talking various initiatives to develop the E - health market in the country. Besides, the e – health market will continue to grow in the coming years due to rising health concerns and increasing awareness among population. Therefore, considering the above factors, it is projected that the US E-healthcare market will grow at a CAGR of around 11% during the forecast period 2013-2017.
