  • Bahrain seeks to spur Malaysia ICT ties...

    Bahrain's eGovernment Authority (eGA) and the Malaysian government are exploring mutual co-operation in eGovernment and information and communications technology (ICT).

    This follows a meeting between eGA chief executive Mohammed Ali Al Qaed and Malaysian Ambassador Ahmed Shahzan Abdulsamad at the authority's premises in Muharraq.

    During the meeting, Mr Al Qaed pointed to the efforts carried-out by the ambassador in enhancing the bilateral relations between Bahrain and Malaysia; as well as the country's witnessed development and progress under the reign of His Majesty King Hamad, praising the advanced Malaysian expertise within the ICT sector.

    Bangladeshi ICT entrepreneurs stressed the need for cooperation from the entrepreneurs of the neighbouring country

    Bangladeshi ICT entrepreneurs Saturday sought training and business supports from their Indian counterparts for the betterment of the sector in Bangladesh.

    They stressed the need for cooperation from the entrepreneurs of the neighbouring country, which is leading the ICT business globally, at a seminar on “ICT Development in Bangladesh: Opportunities and Challenges” in Dhaka.

  • BD: IT leaders seek Indian support to train professionals

    Entrepreneurs in the IT sector yesterday sought Indian support to help train Bangladeshi professionals as the country has a scarcity of skilled people in the industry.

    They also urged their Indian counterparts to assist Bangladesh in winning a larger share of the global IT business.

    Bangladesh has a huge shortage of skilled IT professionals as the educational institutions in the country cannot produce the expected number of skilled people, said Mustafa Jabbar, president of Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS), the national association of ICT companies.

  • Belarus’ Government endorses agreement with Lithuania on cooperation in ICT

    The Government of Belarus approved the agreement with the Government of Lithuania on cooperation in the field of information and communication technologies and in the development of the information society, reads Resolution No. 120 as of 22 February 2013, BelTA has learnt.

    The agreement was signed in Vilnius on 23 November 2012. The Foreign Ministry was instructed to send a notification about Belarus' fulfillment of the domestic procedures required for this agreement to come into force.

  • BH: e-Government Authority's CEO discusses cooperation with Malaysian Ambassador

    e-Government Authority CEO, Mohammad Ali Al-Qaed, today received Ambassador of Malaysia to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Dato' Ahmad Shahizan Abd Samad, and discussed cooperation in the field of e-government and information technology.

    e-Government Authority's CEO praised the Malaysian Ambassador's efforts in promoting bilateral relations and the Malaysian expertise in the field of information technology and telecommunications.

  • BH: eGA signs a memorandum with Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency

    Seeking towards exchanging knowledge in the ICT field, the eGovernment Authority (eGA) signed a memorandum of understanding with Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) based on encouraging and attracting the financial capitals and investments in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

    The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by eGovernment Authority Strategy Business Process Reengineering & Enterprise Partnership Director Mr. Nezar Maroof on behalf of eGovernment Authority CEO Mohammed Ali AlQaed and KOTRA's Vice President Jong Kyung Kim.

  • Bulgaria approves agreement with China on cooperation in IT

    The Bulgarian government on Wednesday approved an agreement with China on cooperation in information technologies and communications.

    The agreement was signed in June by the Bulgarian Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski, and the Chinese Minister of Industry and Information Technology Miao Wei.

  • Bulgaria to collaborate with South Korea and Portugal in e-government project

    Bulgaria will share best practices with South Korea and Portugal to develop the country's electronic government (e-government) project, Finance Minister Simeon Dyankov and Deputy Transport and Communications Minister Purvan Roussinov said.

    In 2011, Bulgaria will allocate about 35 million leva under the EU's administrative capacity operational programme for the project, Deputy Finance Minister Boryana Pencheva said.

  • Bulgaria, Austria Ink e-Govt Cooperation Agreement

    A bilateral agreement on the cooperation in the fields of IT and the electronic government was signed Monday between Bulgaria and Austria.

    The document was inked by Bulgaria's Deputy Transport and IT Minister Parvan Rusinov and Head of the Presidial Section at the Austrian Federal Chancellery, Manfred Matzka. Austria's experience in absorbing EU funds provided for the development of an e-government will be very helpful will be very useful for Bulgaria, the two officials stated.

  • Burkina Faso and Tunisia Strengthen Digital Cooperation Through Smart City Initiative

    TUCAD expressed its intention to collaborate with the Burkinabe government to develop a Smart City that would serve as a technology hub dedicated to information technologies.

    The Minister of Digital Transition, Postal and Electronic Communications of Burkina Faso, Dr. Aminata Zerbo/Sabane, received a delegation from the Tunisian organization Tunisia for the Development of Africa (TUCAD) on October 9, 2025. The meeting focused on strengthening digital cooperation between Tunisia and Burkina Faso, particularly through the creation of a Smart City project. The delegation was led by TUCAD President Anis Jaziri, who presented the organization’s proposal for an ambitious digital investment initiative in Burkina Faso.

  • BZ: Taiwan to help Belize fully digitize

    To strengthen the close and cordial relations between Belize and Taiwan, the ambassadors of both nations met with ministers of each other’s government to discuss bond-strengthening measures and intentions for further cooperation.

    The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to Belize, His Excellency, David K.C. Chien, met with the Minister of Youth, Sports and E-Governance, Hon. Kevin Bernard, to discuss initiatives to pave the way for a modern, digital era in Belize. The ministry in Belize aspires to achieve 95% digitization of services. Together, the officials of the two countries discussed means for building e-governance in Belize and also how Taiwan could help Belize achieve such a goal. Those in the meeting showed particular interest in providing internet access to rural communities.

  • CN: AI go global: China-Pakistan coop in smart city construction

    In the context of the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Chinese and Pakistani researchers are helping Pakistan build smarter and safer cities through the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

    At the beginning of year 2022, the CPInS Lab was officially established at Pakistan National University of Science and Technology (NUST), with joint efforts of NUST and Guangzhou Institute of Software Application Technology. At present, various researches are in progress in an orderly manner.

  • Congo, Rwanda to enhance cooperation in ICT

    Congo and Rwanda have agreed to strengthen their cooperation in the field of Information and Communications Technology (ICT).

    The agreement was announced on Friday in Brazzaville, after a meeting between Thierry Moungalla and Jean Philbert Nsengimana, Congolese and Rwandan Ministers in charge of ICT respectively.

    The Rwandan Minister highlighted the efforts made by his country in the past 15 years to connect to the world through fiber optic technology.

  • EG: Korean ambassador invites Egyptian Ministries to participate in 2021 K-City Partnership Program

    In line with the Egyptian government’s endeavors towards digital transformation and expansion of new smart cities, Ambassador Hong announces the 2021 K-City Global Partnership Program powered by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of the Republic of Korea.

    The program is a platform for Government to Government G2G cooperation aimed at providing technical assistance in smart city projects and knowledge sharing. The Korean Ministry will select projects to be implemented through the program in the following areas Smart city planning, Solution planning, and Solution demonstration.

    Two countries previously signed agreement establishing partnerships to spread public awareness on AI, transfer knowledge

    Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat has met with Singapore’s Ambassador in Cairo Dominic Goh, to discuss ways of enhancing bilateral cooperation in communications and information technology (CIT).

    During the meeting, Talaat reviewed Egypt’s digital strategy and efforts to achieve digital transformation. Part of these official efforts include building Egyptian citizens by providing training programmes in the field of CIT.

  • Estonia and the US boost digital transformation in development cooperation

    The Estonian foreign minister, Urmas Reinsalu, and Bonnie Glick, the deputy administrator of the US Agency for International Development on 21 October signed a joint declaration in Tallinn on enhancing bilateral cooperation on the digital transformation in development cooperation partner countries.

    According to the joint statement, Estonia and the US plan to share the experiences and good practices from the public and the private sector on digital transformation in the framework of development cooperation. The aim is also to contribute to the development of technological solutions that support a safe and open digital society, the Estonian foreign ministry said in a statement.
