Site Wins Center for Digital Government’s Best of the Web and Outstanding Achievement from the Interactive Media AwardsTM

Rhode Island’s official state Web site, RI.gov, has won top honors in two national award competitions. For a fourth year, RI.gov has been ranked in the top 10 for the Center for Digital Government’s annual Best of Web (BOW) competition for government portal excellence. RI.gov has also been awarded Outstanding Achievement in Web site development and design by the Interactive Media AwardsTM for excellent professional work in site standards.

The 2010 BOW recognizes the most innovative state Web portals. Conducted by the Center for Digital Government, a national research and advisory institute on information technology policies, sites are judged by overall efficiency, economy, and functionality for improved citizen access.

IMA judging was based on Web site design, usability, innovation in technical features, and standards compliance. RI.gov met strict criteria --- a success only a fraction of entries in the IMA competition have achieved.

RI.gov offers a variety of government services and information developed at no cost to the state as part of the ongoing partnership between the state of Rhode Island and Rhode Island Interactive.
