Dagang NeXchange Bhd (DNeX) inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Accenture Solutions Sdn Bhd on Tuesday (May 24) to accelerate digital transformation for Malaysia's public services.

Under the MoU, the parties will create joint offerings with products, services and solutions that drive data-led transformation in Malaysia's public services and government-linked companies.

"The collaboration allows joint development of products and services by leveraging technologies and capabilities in the space of analytics, big data, artificial intelligence and enterprise resource planning," DNeX said in a statement.

In a bourse filing on Tuesday, the parties including DNeX's entity Innovation Associates Consulting Sdn Bhd (iAC) said the collaboration intends to drive Malaysia's economic growth in high value areas such as digital, cloud, and Industry 4.0.

The MoU is valid for 36 months from Tuesday and may be further extended by mutual agreement in writing by the parties.

It also stated that the MoU will not have any material effect on the net assets per share, earnings per share and gearing of the company for the financial year ending June 30, 2022.

DNeX group managing director Tan Sri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir and group chief executive officer of IT & eServices Azlan Zainal Abidin as well as Accenture Malaysia's country managing director Azwan Baharuddin represented the respective companies to formalise the MoU in Cyberjaya.

Syed Zainal Abidin said the collaboration will serve as an opportunity for DNeX and iAC to leverage on Accenture's global technological expertise and innovation network to add value to the company's existing business portfolio.

Meanwhile, Accenture's Azwan said this effort could increase technology adoption in the market and develop the right talent to drive it.
