Speaking on the occasion Chief Minister said that his government was keen and had decided to computerize all the official functioning and priority was accorded to the computerization of the revenue records in the state. He said that the state government had targeted computerization of all the records of gram panchayats to bring about efficiency, accuracy, transparency and quality in delivering services to the people. He said that computerization of the revenue record was in progress and likely to be completed in the near future while it was at advanced stage in other departments, especially those relating to public dealing matters. He said that computerization at the grass root level units of administration would strengthen the system and bring efficiency in delivering quality services to the people.
Virbhadra Singh said that the modern tools of information technology were instrumental in updation of the records move conveniently besides avoiding any tempering with the same at any level. He said that the state had high literacy rate which was significantly contributing towards shifting of learning focus from other traditional modes to the modern technology. He said that computer literacy had emerged the need of the hour and every government employee was getting himself acquainted with the computer literacy. He said that the e-governance had been instrumental in cutting down the long official process , filling up of number of forms and filing work considerably and helped in delivering the documents and services to the people within a couple of days. He said that the process was being replicated in other departmental functioning of the state by according top priority.
