Transforming Government since 2001

Very soon, land holders in Andhra Pradesh will be able to access details of their agricultural and other lands online. The State government has decided to launch “Mee Bhoomi” website shortly to keep details of records of all lands, including their survey numbers across the State, online for the convenience of people.

In a press release, the state government said users could enter their Aadhaar card number to view their land details online. They can also search for their Field Measurement Book (FMB) through the soon-to-be launched website.

“The revenue department recently computerized land information which will be connected to banks, sub-registrar offices and MeeSeva offices. Now, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed the revenue officials to complete the preparations for launching the Mee Bhoomi website,” an official said.

“The digital repository will incorporate technology for e-governance and categorise the details of land into information about the owner, area, assessment, water rate, soil type, nature of possession of land, liabilities, tenancy and crops grown. One can also view individual/village Adangal and other details on the website,” the AP government stated.

In the proposed method, there will be provision to rectify mistakes in land registration information and land owners can check their land information at any time online. With respect to grievances related to land, people can register a compliant at the closest Mee-Seva centres. To make the digital repository services mobile-friendly, the government will also release an Android app. “This initiative is aimed at bringing in transparency and ensure easy verification during registrations or applying for loans from banks,” Deputy Chief Minister KE Krishnamurthy told Express.

According to him, this move provides transparency in land records management with better citizen services and takes discretion away from civil servants at operating levels, besides minimising corruption.
