Only two weeks after the announcement of the results of the United Nations report for the eGovernment readiness 2010, and the achievement of the Kingdom of Bahrain to a leading position which was not achieved by any Arab country before.

Where Bahrain is now ranked thirteenth globally, third in Asia, and the first at the Arab, Gulf and Middle East level. More than 10 countries requested to benefit from the experience of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the egovernment field , in order to help them develop government programs and achieve higher positions in the next United Nations report.

Mr. Mohammad Ali Al Qaed Chief Executive Officer of the eGovernment Authority said in a statement: "About 10 Gulf, Arab and foreign countries requested to come and visit Bahrain for meetings with the egovernment to be familiarized with the Kingdom's experience in the egovernment. The first of these meetings will be held with a high-level delegation from the Sultanate of Brunei, who will arrive in Bahrain next week. Another high-level delegation from the Ministry of State for the Indian state of Manipur shall visit Bahrain to look closely at the Bahrain egovernment projects and benefit from it."

Al Qaed also said: "In addition to the Sultanate of Brunei, some Gulf and Arab states such as: Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, requested to benefit from the experience of Bahrain in this area, and learn more about egovernment strategy and the e-government program in the Kingdom Bahrain, as well as exchange experiences and benefit from the experience of the kingdom in this area, in order to come out with a clear perspective for guiding these countries in their efforts to implement e-government project with distinction and success.

The Arab States which participated in the Regional Conference on information and communications technology in the Middle East and North Africa MENA ICT 2010, recently held in the Kingdom of Bahrain, praised the achievement of the kingdom to the thirteenth position globally, the third at the Asian level and the first at the Arab Gulf and the Middle East level in the United Nations report for e-government readiness report 2010, and considered that this advanced position is an honor for all Arab countries, and it a good omen for the rest of the Arab States to achieve advanced positions in the next report.

On the other hand, the eGovernment Authroity CEO pointed out that the e-government Advisor,United Nations, Mr. Richard Kerby paid a visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain yesterday, coming from the United Nations headquarters in New York City, for a meeting with Bahraini officials to study ways to transfer the experience of Kingdom of Bahrain in the area of egovernment the rest of the countries to take advantage of it.

The Kingdom of Bahrain has progressed twenty-nine (29) positions and surpassed many of the European and Asian countries and achieved the thirteenth position (13) globally in the United Nations index report for e-Government readiness in 2010, published every two years by the United Nations.

The report indicated that the Kingdom of Bahrain in the first position at the Gulf, Arab and Middle East level after it was already in the second place, ahead of all the Gulf states and Arab countries. Bahrain has also achieved third place (3) at the Asian level after it was ranked eighth (8) two years ago, noting that one of the objectives of the e-Government's strategy in Bahrain was to achieve the fifth (5) position at the Asian level, but Bahrain exceeded this position and deservedly occupied the third place, outperforming the Asian countries such as Japan, a long-standing technology giant, Malaysia and others countries in Asia.
