Transforming Government since 2001
The sound directives of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, to launch communication with government members via e-mail have been praised by ministers and government officials.

In statements to the Bahrain News Agency (BNA) on the sidelines of the 6th Bahrain International e-Government Forum & IT Expo 2013, they said that the move would reflect positively on government work, upgrade the level of follow up on the implementation of government resolutions and procedures and speed up government action.

They noted that the 6th e-Government Forum coincides with the wise leadership's desire to upgrade and deliver timely and quality services for the citizens.

In this regard, the Transportation Minister and Acting CEO of the Economic Development Board (EDB) Kamel bin Ahmed pointed out that the initiative to launch communication among government officials via e-mails will speed up government transactions and enhance communication between official establishments.

He added that the move will reflect positively on the citizens who will receive timely and more effective services, expressing hope that the experience will be copied by the GCC Secretariat-General's ministerial committees.

On his part, Housing Minister and Chairman of the Tender Board Bassim bin Yaqoob Al Hamar credited the wise leadership and the government for the advanced level reached by the e-government.

Regarding the CEO of the e-Government Authority Mohammed Al-Qaed, he asserted that activating e-communication in the government work is a major step reflecting the wise leadership's commitment to a national strategy aiming to consolidate sustainable development and ensure the welfare of the citizens.

He underlined that the initiative will bring about many benefits, including providing financial surplus to the state, developing government work method from a routine to an effective and modern one and increasing productivity.
