The store is a unified window featuring all government e-Services as downloadable applications on Google's Android and Apple's iOS platforms.
The launch was announced during the inauguration of the MEET ICT 2013 conference by the minister at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre.
Mr Ahmed said the kingdom's information and communications technology (ICT) industry has reached a high stage of development by focussing on excellence.
"Initiatives are underway to develop a knowledge essentials-based society supplemented by modern communication networks and a qualified workforce," he added.
Mr Ahmed said such conferences are a facet of the private sector's major part in the development process.
"The National eGovernment Strategy 2016 aims at raising the levels of competence, fostering participation and active co-operation between stakeholders, as well as sponsoring innovation and entrepreneurship," he said.
Bahrain Technology Companies Society (BTECH) chairman Ubaydli Al Ubaydli announced the launch of the 'Entrepreneurs Gateway' as a first of its type initiative in the region.
Stressing the role of entrepreneurs in economic growth, he said they led to diversifying sources of income, creating new job opportunities and horizontally distributing the production process rather than being concentrated in cosmopolitan cities.
"The portal is different in that it serves as a platform allowing for all stakeholders in the ecosystem to engage and work together," Mr Ubaydl said.
"It brings together entrepreneurs with incubators, seed funds, venture capitalists and business developers," he added.
The Entrepreneurship Gateway is a joint effort by Unido, BTECH, Gulf Future Business, Southern Governorate and Al Nadeem IT Company.
The annual conference's fourth edition talks about ICT Arabic strategies intended for sustainable development in the Arab world - with the participation of local and international professionals and experts in this field.
The Bahrain International Technology Exhibition is also being held alongside the conference. It is open to the public from 9am to 5pm and concludes tomorrow.
