The seventh edition of Bahrain International eGovernment Forum will be inaugurated at Ritz-Carlton Bahrain, Hotel and Spa today.

Deputy Premier and Supreme Committee for Information and Communication Technology chairman Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa will open the event.

He will also honour winners of the eGovernment Excellence Award.

The forum will feature workshops presented by 10 international speakers who will discuss topics ranging from smart government, gamification, mobile trends, power of social media, big data, Information Technology digital trends and entrepreneurship.

Shaikh Mohammed will also inaugurate the Bahrain IT Expo 2014 at Bahrain International Circuit tomorrow. The two-day expo will run in parallel with eight workshops organised by NGOs and international organisations. It will be open to the public at BIC Paddock Hall from 9am-5pm. The workshops will be held at BIC Oasis Building from 8.30am to 4.30pm.

The forum is organised by the eGovernment Authority in collaboration with Bahrain Internet Society (BIS), Bahrain Society of Engineers and Project Management Institute - Arabian Gulf Chapter.

Meanwhile, BIS is organising a workshop on 'e-Content Management' at the BIC tomorrow and Wednesday.

Forum organising committee chairman Nawaf Abdulrahman said the workshop is one of BIS' initiatives to spread awareness on information and communications technology, knowledge and applications.

It will be conducted by three top notch speakers - Austrian Martin Bredl who is Take Off PR's managing partner; Jakub Lebuda, founder and chief executive of Clipatize, an explanatory video production house in Poland; and Mathias Haas who is chief executive and founder of Social Marketing New Media Agency.
