The advanced Enterprise Business Platform (EBP), to be set up at a cost of AED 5 million, aims to create an efficient communication and information sharing mechanism within and between all government departments in the Emirate.
Dr. Rahul Bhatnagar, President and CEO of B2TeCS said that a sound information technology infrastructure is a critical element to maintain the extraordinary development and transformation that is taking place in Ras Al Khaimah. "We have made a major investment in establishing our office in Ras Al Khaimah and we believe that this project and others in the UAE in the years to come will further establish us as a significant information technology partner to both government and commercial clients throughout the UAE", he added.
Dr Hashem Refaei said that the EBP project will become operational in about six months. He pointed out that the B2TeCS EBP will allow for customized formats for e-mails, featuring a logo or seal of various departments, designed for use by senior officials and which could be sent through internet or PDA.
It would also support sending SMS alerts of important messages, will have integrated capabilities for scanning documents directly into the unified electronic repository and integrated faxing capabilities. The system will also allow for archiving all documents, incoming/outgoing e-mails, faxes, letters, etc. It will also have the capability to encrypt all communications to maintain the security and privacy of departmental data and will provide an e-Agenda for the users with all the facilities and capabilities of a standard calendar and agenda application, including electronic reminder.
