The move is part of a wider framework of a federal plan fully adopt e-Government. Other establishments in the country are already on board.
Shaikha Lubna said the ministry aims to expand its activities to interact with local, regional and international economic societies as well as to reflect its real image internationally.
She added that the ministry currently works to expand its activities to interact more with the business community.
She explained that the ministry's visions regarding the national economy lies in building a balanced economy that depends on diversification of income and establishing laws and legislation to secure stable economic activities, besides using latest technology for better efficiency.
Sheikha Lubna said the average transactions in the years 2004 and 2005 amounted to 200,000.
"Shifting to electronic system will witness an increase in the number of transaction in the future," she said.
As per the contract, Etisalat will implement 86 new eServices at the Ministry of Economy in phases to be completed by the end of 2007 under a single umbrella infrastructure created to facilitate rapid creation, deployment and management of online services.
