The MoU, which was signed by Hamad Fadhel Al Mazrooei, CEO, DC World, and Salem Al Shair, Director, eServices, Dubai eGovernment, calls on the two parties to share their 'knowledge, capabilities, best practices and services to expedite the implementation of the identified areas of cooperation.'
After the signing ceremony, Mr Hamad Fadhel Al Mazrooei, CEO, DC World, said: 'We want to benefit from Dubai eGovernment's expertise in IT solutions, especially in the field of electronic payment systems in order to enable our customers to carry out all financial transactions with us directly through their bank accounts. We also want to develop total e-applications for all dealings with our projects and partners in other countries.
'Online services are central to DC World's operations. Our indigenously developed Mirsal System is a new generation Customs and clearance and control application that is IT-driven. Our cooperation with Dubai eGovernment will help in implementing it with enhanced efficiency.
'This MoU between two Government organizations is further proof that is Dubai relies on its own resources to further knowledge-based economy, without resorting to outsourcing from other countries.'
Mr Salem Al Shair, Director, eServices, Dubai eGovernment, said: 'This MoU for cooperation is designed to benefit both parties. Dubai eGovernment will provide DC World with tailor-made IT solutions to meet their requirements. We also want to benefit from DC World's distinguished international presence in marketing our products and services worldwide.'
Under the MoU, DC World and Dubai eGovernment will draw up well-defined scope for cooperation, tasks, milestones, deliverables, resources, governance structure and commercials. They also pledged to allocate resources required to implement the MoU.
