Transforming Government since 2001
Government transactions such as paying traffic fines or applying for ID cards will be available online by next year, an official told Gulf News.

Local government departments will link to the federal government and other local departments in the UAE, according to Rashed Lahej Al Mansouri, chairman of Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Committee (ADSIC).

Al Mansouri said “Our aim is to transform all possible government services to e-services which can be accessed by the public round-the-clock. The electronic link between the governments and other local entities will help achieve that goal.”

"A day will come when people can get almost all government services at their own home online. They will not have to visit government offices anymore” he added.

Services will be available from the Abu Dhabi government web site www.abudhabi.ae which details progress of the e-government programme.

Paying traffic fines, searching for property with the help of department of social services and commercial buildings, providing online application forms for identity cards and getting a fishing licence are a few of the online services available," said Al Mansouri.
