The mobile phone electronic services, initiated on Wednesday, are directed to the companies and firms that use 'Mirsal-2' in processing customs transactions, apart from other clients and staff.
Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Executive Director, Customers Management, at a customs announcement event said the move is aimed to make customs services accessible round-the-clock with a variety of free, advanced and easy to reach electronic services.
"The new services will be an added value to all 5,800 users of Mirsal-2 which serve more than 100,000 clients."
Musabih said the new service would facilitate business greatly, and save clients' time and effort. "The declaration status inquiry may be now done in almost no time no prior registration or logging in with a user name and password."
Musabih said the new service enables clients to review Dubai Customs newsletters and provides them with a location map of Dubai Customs centres and outlets.
"They can also get related information, inquire about cargo systems, and interact with Sahim (participate) service which was launched last year to enable all segments of the society to positively interact with Dubai Customs and report customs-related violations," the official added.
The event saw the presence of Juma Al Ghaith, Executive Director of the Customs Development Division, senior customs executives and representatives of major companies and firms.
