Al Mahmoud affirmed the Department's dedication to implementing the directives of His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council, to further develop the general performance of all Sharjah's government departments, to meet the demand for online services, to provide value added services to clients, as well as to adopt and introduce more online services with the aim of offering cost-effective and reliable facilities to help enhance the emirate's position as the regional investment destination of choice.
Ms Youmna Saif Al Noman, Director of the SEDD's IT Department, said that the newly launched services include a "registration of a new investor" function, which enables new investors to register online and complete the application via the website before visiting the Department. In line with this, she explained that the Trade Name Section will not receive further applications as new investor registration will be processed online.
Legal announcement services have also been added to enable clients to view all legal announcements, such as the changing of trade names, the assignment of shares, the withdrawal of service agents, service cancelations, as well as the dissolution of companies. As an added benefit, investors will be able to enquire about any of these cases without prior registration on the website.
Other new E-services available include viewing license details, branch information, data directories and payment vouchers, making follow-up easy. These services are available to registered clients. While registration can be processed online, clients must visit the Department's customer service centre to activate their account.
SEDD's host of E-services also include printing payment vouchers, viewing investor license details, trade name availability enquiries, economic activity enquiries, an "ask the economic expert" section, application follow-ups, facilities to change contact details, an E-careers section, as well as space for comments and suggestions.
The Department intends to launch additional services on its website in the coming months, which will include e-applications, trade name bookings, fixing appointments for inspectors, and e-payment for vouchers.
