Dubai eGovernment Department has recently welcomed a delegation from Ajman Chamber of Commerce & Industry, which is looking to learn more about its successful experience of applying Dubai Government's Unified Electronic Suggestion System "eSuggest" that was officially launched last May. Dubai eGovernment (DeG), in cooperation with the General Secretariat of Dubai Executive Council, developed and implemented this integrated administrative system with the aim of dealing with suggestions from customers and employees through mechanisms for receiving, studying and handling suggestions for use in upgrading government performance.
Sumaia Hammad, Director of Communication & Business Development Department at DeG, and the eSuggest team received the visiting delegation. Members of the delegation listened to a detailed explanation about the stages of development of the system and its key mainstays. Dubai eGovernment also explained in detail the role of the system in unifying the methodologies used to deal with suggestions and ensure that they are utilized in enhancing corporate performance and improving the quality of services.
The delegation was also given a presentation about the system's mechanism of generating reports based on operating indicators related to the suggestions like the speed of response to suggestions and the satisfaction level of staff and customers with the responses given.
Later, a joint presentation was facilitated by Hazza Al Nuaimi, Project Manager at the Executive Council - Dubai to illustrate how the eSuggest system works. He pointed out that the Council had already made great strides in implementing the system in many government departments in the emirate and that it would continue to enhance and expand it to create unified, common and methodological bases to achieve integration among government departments by benefiting from the local, regional and global experiences. This is pursuant to the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation among government entities and streamlining their contribution to the development efforts to enhance their development initiatives.
From the Ajman delegation, Rasha Al Shammari, coordinator of the suggestions system and creative ideas at Ajman Chamber of Commerce & Industry, discussed the Chamber's experience of implementing the "Fikrati" suggestions system. The two sides then exchanged views on the advantages of both systems.
Expressing her happiness on receiving the delegation, Hammad further briefed the delegation members on Dubai eGovernment's pioneering experience in implementing eSuggest, as it complements the efforts for materializing the objectives of Dubai Strategic Plan 2015 aimed at to achieving government integration, promoting sustainable development and consolidating Dubai's position on the global map. Hammad said: "The idea of creating the 'Unified Electronic Suggestion System' would not have been a great success without the strong support of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, who underlined the importance of encouraging the staff to take advantage of the various opportunities to boost the efforts for developing infrastructures and government resources in the emirates and also without the commitment of the action team at the DeG and the General Secretariat of Dubai Executive Council and all the participants in and contributors to developing the system with the Government of Dubai."
Hammad added: "We hope that we have succeeded in giving the delegation from Ajman Chamber of Commerce & Industry a comprehensive idea that will help them in implementing this system. We hope that this visit will pave the way for further communication and exchange of experiences to advance excellence and leadership in the UAE."
Mohammed Ali Janahi, Director of Membership and Transactions at the Ajman Chamber, praised the Dubai eGovernment's successful implementation of the system, which is part of the various achievements that reaffirm Dubai's leading position in the eTransformation of the UAE and the region in general. "We are pleased to meet a number of officials from Dubai eGovernment and learn about the many aspects of this pioneering initiative. We hope to open more channels of effective communication, which will help us build a knowledge-based digital society," Janahi said.
The eSuggest system caters to customers and staff of government departments in Dubai, using in several phases a unified platform for all government departments, authorities and organizations in the emirate. Dubai eGovernment has developed a dedicated portal (http://esuggest.dubai.ae), which is linked to its official portal, in order to receive all comments and suggestions, taking into consideration the cultural diversification in the emirate.
