A Press conference was held to announce the services on the sidelines of Gitex, attended by Youssef Hasan Al Mutaweh, Senior Advocate-General; Khalifa bin Demas, Advocate-General and head of the Technical Office; and Hind Al Zarouni, Director of the IT Department at the Public Prosecution.
Al Mutaweh said that the prosecution has accomplished an electronic shifting of 100 per cent and has come up with new quality electronic services this year.
“The electronic prosecution member’ package is one of the new services which have been uploaded on the iPad and distributed to every prosecution member. It will enable the user to follow up on his cases through the integral prosecution software.
Also the new service will enable residents to respond to applications from anywhere, irrespective of their location and will be useful to both prosecution members as well as the public.
With the new service available on their iPads, the prosecutors can now easily carry their iPad with them during investigations outside the Public Prosecution headquarters. The package also has an option to let the prosecutor check on another case and therefore take action or decision on it, thereby making it an integral platform for investigation reports and actions. It will also help the prosecutors to follow-up on updates on the cases.
Bin Demas pointed out that the new services would result in higher transparency for the public.
Information security has been taken into consideration while developing this service and it has been protected by more than one firewall to prevent any possible hacking.
With the UAE laws application already uploaded in Arabic on iPhones and iPads, this new application has been made available for android smart phones like Galaxy handsets. The laws are also now available in English on iPhones and iPads.
The UAE local and federal legislations are also available on the Public Prosecution website which has been recently revamped.
