Transforming Government since 2001
Under the new e-traffic service the Fujairah Police have launched, the police will do an electronic screening of criminal records of the applicants instead of finger printing.

Applicants of new driving licence and renewal of old ones need not visit the Traffic Department of the Fujairah Police anymore to collect the licences. They will get them at their respective places of work.

Under the new e-traffic service the Fujairah Police have launched, fingerprinting is being dispensed with. Instead, the police will do an electronic screening of criminal records of the applicants. The move is part of the Fujairah Police’s initiative adopting the concept of e-government and upgrading of the standards of services to raise customer satisfaction levels. The service is also in line with the leadership’s vision towards realising excellence.

The other services include renewal of vehicle registration of the partners of the police.

Brigadier Mohammed Ahmed bin Ganim Al Kaabi, Commander-in-Chief of the Fujairah Police, said the launch of these services is in conformity with the strategy and vision of the UAE government, which is striving for a transformation into smart government in a way that each and every Emirati and expatriate will get the services he/she needs online.

“The Ministry of Interior led by Lt-General Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, exerts efforts in transforming all its services into e-systems which save time and make processes less cumbersome for the applicants,” he added.
