The Department of Economic Development has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the technology solutions provider Infas ME to collaborate in promoting electronic services and information exchange. The partnership, which will see Infas ME providing state-of-the-art information technology solutions and support services to DED, is part of DED 's efforts to accomplish the vision and strategy of the Government of Dubai to enhance service delivery.

The MoU was signed by Mohammed Al Shehhi, Deputy Executive Director of Shared Services sector in DED, and Raef Eid, General Manager of Infas ME, in the presence of senior executives from DED and its agencies as well as Infas ME representatives.

Commented Abdullah Hassan, Executive Director of Shared Services in DED : ' The Department of Economic Development is intensifying its efforts to exchange experiences and facilitate doing business through improving service quality in partnership with public as well as private sector partners. We are keen to maintain an active partnership with Infas ME and leverage their expertise and capabilities in information technology for the success of e-services."

Hassan added that the partnership will support the vision and strategy of DED to facilitate economic activity in Dubai through various projects and improving the organisational capabilities of DED and its agencies, particularly in terms of productivity and intellectual property protection. "It will also simplify procedures for our customers and improve service quality, flexibility and sustainability in line with the reputation of Dubai as an ideal financial and business hub."

Expressing his delight over the partnership the Infas ME General Manager said the two sides will share experiences and information on developing and managing projects and collaborate on integrating cutting edge IT into DED operations. "We work on a common principle and strategy when working with government agencies in Dubai - improve service quality and customer satisfaction in the emirate, and contribute to increasing the GDP in the UAE," he added.
