An independent jury of experts selected 365 winners from about 2 600 applications; the winners will be introduced to the public from 1 March 2011 during a series of regional events.
Commenting on the competition and on 115's award, the Federal Government Commissioner for Information Technology and Secretary of State, Cornelia Rogall-Grothe said: "I am delighted that the 115 initiative is better consolidated in the country thanks to this award. The 'Landmark' competition makes 115 an element of Germany's innovation potential, along with the other 2011 award winners. It is thus also a showcase of an innovative service for the citizens provided by the public administration." she added.
The '365 Landmarks in the Land of Ideas' is led by the 'Germany Land of Ideas' initiative in cooperation with the German Bank. The competition of ideas and projects are put at the centre of the attention under the patronage of the German President, actively shaping the future of Germany.
As from 1 June 2001, 115 will be launched in new regions.
