Taopu Smart City has become a key area in Putuo District's development strategy with ongoing efforts to enhance transportation, attract high-tech industries and improve public services.

Taopu is improving its infrastructure to support industrial growth, according to a promotional event on Thursday at the China-Israel Innovation Hub in Shanghai. Two additional Metro lines, 20 and 26, are also under development apart from the operating Lines 11 and 15.

The "Building Smart City in a Changing World" forum was held in Beijing on September 16, as part of the 2024 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), which ran from Sept 12 to 16.

Co-hosted by the Institute for Global Cooperation and Understanding at Peking University and the Institute for Urban Internationalization Studies at Zhejiang International Studies University, the event unveiled the 2024 League of Arab States Smart City Ranking with the support of Harbor Overseas, the Center for Science and Technology Development and Governance of Tsinghua University, and the Shenzhen Finance Institute.

NTT Com Asia (NTT) is giving smart city development in Hong Kong a significant boost by establishing a technology and innovation ecosystem with the launch of docomo 5G DX Square, an innovation lab designed from the ground up to enable local innovators co-develop new AI, Edge and Private 5G (P5G) applications within Hong Kong’s first-of-its-kind P5G environment. NTT is the first service provider to receive the Localized Wireless Broadband System (Private) License from Hong Kong’s Office of the Communications Authority (OFCA).
