The e-NYSC programme, is aimed at computerising NYSC operations and bringing it into the information super-highway to ease registration and inspection processes of the scheme.
The modernisation scheme undertaken by NYSC, in collaboration with the National e-Government Strategies (NeGST) and Afribank Plc, is taking-off in eight pilot states, Lagos, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nassarawa, Kaduna, Plateau, Benue, Kogi and Niger.
Speaking at the flag-off in Minna, Niger State, Executive Vice Chairman of National e-Government Strategies, Dr Olu Agunloye, described the IT capacity training as part of government's transformation drive aimed at repositioning the youth scheme to become e-Government-compliant for greater efficiency and effectiveness in all aspects of its operations through the use of information technology.
It is a means to redefine the way it interacts with its staff, corpers, citizens and the business community as well as other establishments such as institutions of learning, examination bodies or admission agencies and employment agencies", he said.
