The minister, who stated this in Abuja at the first Pan African Health Summit organised by the Ministry Health, Federal Capital territory (FCT) in conjunction with INTEL Corporation, said this would enhance the delivery of mobile health care using information technologies for a healthier Nigeria.
Johnson also hinted that to fast track the e-health and mobile-health delivery, the Nigerian Communications commission (NCC), in partnership with the operators in the sector, has embarked on a project that would involve building a communication network infrastructure in 36 emergency communication centres across the country, 18 of which are ready be launched in the next two to three months for effective service.
This, the minister said, would take care of the key pressing factors on e-health and mobile health delivery, which include an emergency call centre, emergency contact centre and emergency telephone lines, among others.
