Following the pilot programs, Phase3 plans for this initiative to expand to the national level while providing support for rural development. The 3CEi e-Learning initiative was created in 2013 to help build a solid foundation for Nigerian students in ICT knowledge development at primary, secondary and tertiary levels.
The Chief Executive Officer of Phase3, Stanley Jegede, stated that Phase3 is very committed, excited and enthusiastic about the 3CEi Initiative because the programmes are targeted at helping schools establish Twenty-First Century ICT Clubs to inspire and motivate the ICT innovations amongst tech savvy pupils and students.
These programmes which have been made into an audio-visual format in English and French, will also be converted to Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba Languages soon. He adds that the audio-visual format comprises an interactive question bank that is designed with a child-friendly interface. He said “Phase3 is also poised to provide all required software and hardware required to effectively deliver on the objectives of this programme.”
E-Learning wholly or in part uses information network which includes the internet, an intranet (LAN) or extranet (WAN) for course delivery, interaction, evaluation and/or facilitation. Online or web-based learning are both subsets of e-learning and refer to learning using an internet browser.
