Jordan on Saturday signed an agreement with the Microsoft Corporation to speed up the implementation of e-government and e-learning blueprints in the country. "The accord provided for investment opportunities for Microsoft in the country and the training for about 1000 Jordanian personnel," said Communications Minister Fawaz Zoabi, who signed on behalf of his government.

"The agreement is the fruit of talks held earlier at Davos between King Abdullah and Microsoft chief Bill Gates," Zoabi said.

"We look forward to receiving Microsoft's assistance in training Jordanians and bringing technology to the Jordanian community, including universities," he added.
