The Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) turned over the Smart City Roadmap Report to the City Government of Malolos as beneficiary for the pilot implementation of DAP's Linking Innovation Partners towards Accelerated Development in the Philippines Program.

Malolos Mayor Christian Natividad received the Smart City Roadmap Report from DAP President and CEO Majah-Leah Ravago during the first Smart City Convention held at the Marco Polo Hotel in Ortigas Center, Pasig City on April 18, 2024.

"Our dedication to this cause stems from our firm belief in harnessing technology and innovation to enhance the quality of life for all residents," Natividad said.

"We are fully committed to leveraging the latest technologies, collaborating with stakeholders and investing resources to achieve our smart city objectives."

The convention was attended by more than 100 key representatives of national government agencies, local government units, and private sector organizations.

Malolos will join the City of Santa Rosa in Laguna as the first Smart Cities in the Philippines.

The highlight of the event was the official turnover of the Smart City Roadmap Report to Natividad, who affirmed the city's commitment to navigate the roadmap.

The Smart City roadmap aims to set guidelines and plans for LGUs to reach the goals of Smart City development. It also shows the city's commitment to build Smart Cities and prioritize technological solutions and innovations.

Ravago said the importance of collaboration among all stakeholders in shaping a smarter Philippines characterized by enhanced quality of life and sustainable progress.

"We envision a future with more smart and sustainable communities across the Philippines, echoing Santa Rosa and Malolos City's successes," Ravago added.

"Each of us here today plays a key role in building smarter and more sustainable communities towards a Bagong Pilipinas and Ambisyon Natin 2040 — a vision for a matatag, maginhawa at panatag na buhay (resilient, comfortable and peaceful life) that all Filipinos aspire for."

The Smart Cities Convention symbolizes a game changer in the development of more inclusive, collaborative and digitally transformed cities in the Philippines.
