Dinkic said at a press conference, held at the Business Registers Agency, that from today those who wish to register a business need to submit a single application form at one counter in the Agency. Director of the Business Registers Agency Zvonko Obradovic explained that according to the new procedure it is necessary to fill out only one application in order to set up a business.

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Regional Development Mladjan Dinkic today handed over the first business registration documents issued according to the new simplified business registration procedure which takes only three days, thus inaugurating the one-stop business registration system in Serbia.

Dinkic said at a press conference, held at the Business Registers Agency, that from today those who wish to register a business need to submit a single application form at one counter in the Agency.

The Minister handed over registration documents to Biljana Sekulovic-Deves from Belgrade, who has established a trade, consulting and management services firm, the Bisal Group.

He stressed that from today the old system, which involved moving to and fro from counter to counter, has been replaced by a simple and quick procedure. He explained that the Business Registers Agency, the Tax Administration, the Disability and Pension Insurance Fund and the National Institute for Health Insurance are now electronically interconnected.

We are aware that Serbia has an expensive and complicated administrative system and because of this, during the crisis, when we cannot make major economic progress, we will at least make efforts to make our administrative system more efficient, simple and cost effective, said Dinkic.

He specified that there are around 8,800 laws and regulations in Serbia, many of which are obsolete and unnecessary and invited all citizens to send in their own suggestions and recommendations and help make these legal procedures less complicated.

Director of the Business Registers Agency Zvonko Obradovic explained that according to the new procedure it is necessary to fill out only one application in order to set up a business.

He stressed that the four institutions now use electronic data exchange, which makes procedures faster, easier and more efficient.

Obradovic pointed out that now it takes 5 to 6 days, instead of the previous 23 days, to establish a business.

Director of the Tax Administration Dragutin Radosavljevic noted that in this way the project of E-government has been put into use, adding that it is important to develop this kind of communication between all state institutions, business people and citizens over the next two years.
