The Dutch government says its digitisation push has been successful so far, with 5 million Dutch people now signed up to the MijnOverheid e-government account, against 1.8 million in October 2015, according to two studies by the inistry of the interior and of royal relations. Minister Ronald Plasterk expressed satisfaction with the data, syaing more administrative tasks can be taken care of online, with less "paperwork.

Users can now access about 88 percent of government services online, including applying for rental or health care benefits, arranging student financing or parking permits. The first study on the subject came out in mid 2016. The second study looked at the use of facilities offered by the digital government, showing again a positive trend.

The number of authentications with DigiD order increased by 30 percent from 158 million in 2014 to over 206 million by 2015. There are more than 12.5 million active DigiD accounts now, compared to 11.8 million at end-2014.

More than 80 percent of public services in the EU is available online, the European Commission said in a eGovernment barometer. The quality and use vary greatly between member states.
