In a statement Rasha Abdulaziz al Roumi, Chairperson/Managing Director, Kuwait Airways stated that the technological achievement at the level of international and regional establishments was an honour for staff of the national carrier as well as a great recognition. She pointed out that Kuwait Airways website was assessed by specialised committees for proficiency and creative elements. Kuwait Airways had possessed the technical and commercial characteristics that enabled it to win the certificate of “Golden Distinction”.
Rasha al Roumi added that the management was delighted in winning the award as it was a platform for displaying the distinct features of the official Kuwait Airways website in terms of rendering numerous services to its clients.
It also represents a permanent endeavour to upgrade all services, particularly those related to the air transport industry. She emphasised that among the most important goals of Kuwait Airways was to connect the technology of the Internet and E-trade to fulfil the marketing and operational goals.
Al Roumi explained that attaining the strategic award places enormous responsibility and pushes Kuwait Airways to work further towards development and constant change so as to stay abreast with the era of rapid advancements in technology systems. As such, the website constitutes an important channel by providing reservations, direct issuance of E-tickets, and array of services that include the distinct services of Maraheb, Oasis Club Frequent Flyer programme, in addition to Holiday programmes which include tickets, hotels, car rental and other travel information that interest passengers.
“Shield of Arab E-Government” is a recognition for the efforts of member states in the Arab League, relating to electronic sites and social networks as being the best available tool to communicate directly with the public. It is aimed at enhancing principles of responsiveness, transparency, and bridging the gap between various types of government institutions and citizens without barriers.
