Transforming Government since 2001
A team from the Arab Interior Ministers Council (AIMC) visited the National Information Center (NIC) here to learn about the technical services offered by the Saudi Ministry of Interior and other government agencies.

During the visit, Mohammed bin Ali Kuman, AIMC secretary-general, and the accompanying delegation met with Tariq bin Abdullah Al-Sheddi, NIC’s director general, sources said Tuesday.

They were briefed on the technical services provided by the NIC to the ministry and other government agencies, and technology to be introduced soon, sources added.

Ali Kuman thanked Prince Mohammed bin Naif, minister of interior, and the NIC director general for the briefing.

The e-services program of the NIC has won the Gulf Cooperation Council’s (GCC) e-government and e-services excellence award for social networking at the 19th Middle East smart government and smart services excellence awards in Dubai recently.

The NIC provides information technology solutions and services to the ministry and other government agencies in the Kingdom. It has one of the largest information technology centers in the Middle East.

It was established under the name Computer Center three decades ago, renamed the General Administration of Central Information and then NIC in the 1980s.
