Transforming Government since 2001

The Ministry of Labor has launched an electronic service to issue visas for expatriate workers on Musaned, in an effort to employ technology to speed up and facilitate procedures. This measure also helps to decrease paperwork and allows visas to be issued electronically in a transparent manner.

Other government bodies have supported this move, announcing the end of registering and receiving written application in labor offices.

Majed Al-Haqqas, owner of a recruitment office, said that this service is a move toward providing quality services to citizens and facilitating efficient procedures. He hoped the ministry will work to apply this service to recruitment offices to limit random traders, and to contain the prices of visas.

Um Abdullah, another citizen, said that the service makes things much easier, especially for women, because obtaining visas will be much faster and straightforward. Reports show that the number of work visas in 2014 reached 950,252, in comparison with 1,586,532, in 2013, reflecting a decrease of 40 percent.
