The Government this year plans to spend VND15 billion (US$940,000) to purchase equipment for online meetings with leading officials.
More meetings among government officials will be conducted online via TelePresence technology, following the success of Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung’s recent online discussion.
To save expenses on travel and reduce lengthy meetings, Dung has asked the Government’s Office to hold more online meetings with provincial authorities.
Other local provinces have also planned to organise online meetings between departments and offices.
The Viet Nam Telecoms National (VTN), the Ha Noi-based Post Office and the Viet Nam Cisco Networking Company have invested in setting up TelePresence rooms in Ha Noi and HCM City.
