Transforming Government since 2001
The government is training top county officers ahead of the biometric registration of all public servants.

Regional coordinator Francis Mutie said the training is important because of the role the officers will play in the implementation of the Capacity Assessment and Rationalisation of the Public Service Programme.

He said all county officers countrywide should know the aims and objectives of the exercise.

"We hope the training will give you insight to enable you impart necessary information to all staff in your county who will be involved in the programme," Mutie said in a speech read on his behalf by Kisii county commissioner Chege Mwangi in Kisumu town on Monday during a public service workshop.

He said they want to ensure government functions are properly structured to facilitate transformation of the public service for efficiency and effective service delivery.

Mutie said the officers will undertake institutional review and identify staff eligible for redeployment or transfer.
