Transforming Government since 2001
The National eService Delivery Standards (National eService Delivery Standards) Programme is making the draft eStandards for the first 8 service areas from Phase 1 of the Programme available for Public Consultation from November 10th 2005. They can be downloaded from the NeSDS website at www.nesdsconsultation.org

NeSDS is asking all senior e-Government practitioners and heads of service in English Local Authorities to participate in the consultation process and supply NeSDS with relevant feedback on the standards. The Closing date for comments on the phase 1 consultation is Thursday December 15th 2005.

NeSDS would also like to thank the 51% of English Local Authorities and over 40 professional bodies who have been actively involved for all their extensive input into this exciting process to date.

The eStandards that will be made available for the Consultation are:

  • Human Resources
  • Property
  • Highways
  • ICT
  • Customer Services
  • Adult Services
  • Housing – Landlord
  • Housing – Tenant
  • Trees

The eStandards were drawn up by invited panels of Local Authority Heads of Service and experts from Professional bodies and each service stream was led by a different Local Council. Every effort has been made to include any work that has already been carried out in each area by Local Authorities or regional partnerships.

The Authorities who led on the first set of standards found the process very beneficial and I would urge you too to get involved now in the Consultation process. This is a great example of the power of working together.

The NeSDS Consultation microsite, consultation download centre and associated online and traditional direct marketing is being run by e-Government news and jobs service PublicTechnology.net, NeSDS' online communications partner.
