The service encourages individuals and companies submitting planning applications to do it electronically.
Since its launch in December 2005 it has led to a rise in on-line planning applications, now 34 per cent of all planning applications which are submitted.
Applications have varied in scale from the massive Saints Stadium development to small household extensions.
The services is part of a comprehensive e-Planning service which St Helens Council provides which has been recognised by the Planning Portal, the Planning Advisory Service and the Royal Town Planning Institute.
It has also received commendations at the Royal Town Planning Institute awards, national e-Government awards and the Government Computing awards.
