Transforming Government since 2001
Londoners can now find information about IT projects on a new e-government Web site

London's e-government programme has launched a new Web site intended to act as an online "library" for IT projects in the capital. The site, launched on Monday, offers e-government information, email alerts and extranet facilities for sharing data. It has been designed according to guidelines set by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister.

The London Connects programme may have a new Web site but it is yet to set up a public services portal, first promised in 1998.

The portal was intended to be a single entry point for all public and voluntary services in the capital. London Connects is now finally making progress on the £2m portal project. Potential IT suppliers have until 14 June, 2004, to submit tenders for the portal contract.
