The formation of SESA was officially announced in Singapore in July 2007. The alliance is part of the International Partners (iPartners) programme initiated by International Enterprise (IE) Singapore1, an agency under Singapore's ministry of trade and industry.
"Alliances enable Singapore companies to band together to offer a full suite of complementary products and services and compete on a larger scale in overseas markets. SESA is a good example of how Singapore's technology companies can tailor their combined e-government expertise to help Middle Eastern governments provide cutting edge solutions to their businesses and citizens," said Andrew Khaw, acting director of corporate group (infocomm technology), IE Singapore. "In Singapore, about 1,600 government services are readily available over the Internet. With Internet usage rising rapidly in the Middle East, we see much potential for SESA to offer their expertise in this market."
"Singapore has developed several generations of e-government systems for a wide variety of public services over a long period of time," said Himmat Singh, director, alliance management, CrimsonLogic. "A number of Middle Eastern governments have already made big strides in e-government initiatives and are continually on the look-out for ways to reinforce their reach and service to the businesses and citizens. SESA has been formed to assist Middle East governments to leverage tried and tested e-government solutions to fast-track their own plans."
SESA has the best-of-breed technologies, domain knowledge, methodologies, and depth of e-government operational experience necessary to work in close partnership with governments in the region, said a Press statement. The alliance offers consulting expertise and proven solutions for a wide variety of e-government concerns such as general licensing, healthcare, tax management, justice and law, labour management, trade facilitation and customs management, the statement added.
"SESA's value proposition is grounded in the e-government domain expertise and best of breed technology solutions possessed by its five alliance members. Led by CrimsonLogic, the Alliance has more than 20 years of track record," said Mike Yap, regional manager for SESA . "The e-government solutions of SESA members have been proven in Singapore and other parts of the world."
