Connected Tennessee's Technology Assessment highlights the use of computers and the Internet by Tennessee residents, businessesToday, Connected Tennessee announced the release of the State of Tennessee's first comprehensive technology survey -- Tennessee's Technology Trends 2007. The two-part assessment highlights use and impact of computers, the Internet and broadband technology among Tennessee residents and businesses. The survey involves nearly 10,000 Tennesseans and more than 800 businesses representing each of Tennessee's 95 counties.

The MOU builds on the organizations' existing long-term networking partnership that was established in 2000. The new MOU was made official today at a ceremony held in conjunction with the annual Internet2 Fall Member Meeting in San Diego, California.

USDA announces recipients of $7.98 Million to improve rural health care
Acting Agriculture Secretary Chuck Conner today announced $7.98 million in Distance Learning and Telemedicine loans and grants."Enhancing the quality of rural health care is a top priority for USDA Rural Development," Conner said. "We are pleased to help seven more rural hospitals and medical centers use these funds to develop state-of-the-art electronic medical record-keeping systems to improve the quality of care in their communities."
