  • Top NRI for Sri Lanka

    The Networked Readiness Index (NRI) for Sri Lanka has been elevated from 72 percent to 48 during the last five years indicating a major improvement in the industry, Sri Lanka ranks fifth in the world in development in the ICT sector.

    The country had the biggest improvement in the NRI, which is a global indicator used to ascertain the success of ICT activities in counties.

    Sri Lanka has managed to reap these positive results mainly due to the government’s e-development agenda, ICT Agency of Sri Lanka Chief Executive Officer, Reshan Dewapura said.

  • World Bank to implement e-governance in Sri Lanka

    World Bank today announced its support to design and implement e-governance in Sri Lanka. Naoko Ishii, Country Director Sri Lanka said the World Bank will continue to provide the e-government assistance to the Government of Sri Lanka through the e-Sri Lanka Development Project.

    The focus of the program is to achieve a customer-oriented model of governance with “one-stop service” delivery mechanisms and under this model, citizens are able to receive government services at a “single window” of the government, rather than running around numerous government agencies, Ms. Ishii said.
