India: All RTOs to be computerised by March next year
The Road Transport Offices (RTOs) throughout the country will be computerised by next March in a Rs 190-crore project which will be executed by the National Informatics Centre, an official body that provides e-governance support to Centre, states and government bodies."We expect that all RTOs in the country will be computerised by March 2008. The government has asked National Informatics Centre (NIC) to execute the project at a cost of Rs 190 crore," Secretary in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways Brahm Dutt said here.
UAE: Dubai eGovernment signs MoU with DED to create new line of eServices
Dubai eGovernment, a pioneering initiative in the region to provide online services, has announced that it has laid the foundation for the creation of a comprehensive online platform for the business sector after signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Department of Economic Development (DED) during a press conference held today (Sunday, September 9, 2007) at Dubai eGovernment’s GITEX stand. The partnership aims to create the 'Dubai Investment and Business Portal' that will present a new collection of eServices developed according to the specific needs and expectations of all clients and users of Dubai eGovernment and DED facilities.
Singapore helps fast-track ME e-govt practices
The Singapore e-Government Services Alliance (SESA), which aims to bring Singapore's e-government practices and solutions to governments in the Middle East, was launched at Gitex 2007. Led by CrimsonLogic, SESA has four other private enterprise members from Singapore, namely Ditium Technologies, Elixir Technology, RSTN and V3 Teletech.The formation of SESA was officially announced in Singapore in July 2007. The alliance is part of the International Partners (iPartners) programme initiated by International Enterprise (IE) Singapore1, an agency under Singapore's ministry of trade and industry.
UAE: DED unveils second batch of eServices at GITEX
The Department of Economic Development (DED) today unveiled three new online eServices allowing customers to track the status of transactions, pay for transactions, request certificate delivery and attend to fines through the DED website.Created in collaboration with Dubai eGovernment to enhance customer service efficiency at the Department, the new eServices are being launched as part of GITEX Technology Week.
UAE:Dubai eGov't partners with key government ministries to implement federal eGovernment initiative
Dubai eGovernment announced on the sidelines of its GITEX participation, its strategic partnership with six federal government ministries to implement the federal eGovernment initiative. The ministries, which Dubai eGovernment has partnered with, include the Ministry of Development for Government Sector (MoDGS), Ministry of Finance and Industry, Ministry of Environment and Water, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Public Works, and Zakat Fund.
