  • UAE:Dubai eGov't and National Bank of Abu Dhabi announce co-branded Visa Card to facilitate ePayment

    Dubai eGovernment, has signed an agreement with the National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) to launch a co-branded Visa card that can be used for both eGovernment and day to day transactions.

    Backed by Visa International, the world's leading payment solutions provider, the new card will provide a convenient, flexible and secure way for both individuals and corporations to conduct epayments transactions with government departments.

    Dubai eGovernment's AskDubai Contact Centre handled more than 60,000 calls and 1,200 emails since its launch in June 2003 and until April 2004.

    Mahmood Al Bastaki, Business Process Re-engineering Consultant, Dubai eGovernment, addressing a seminar on Regional Call Centre Trends in Dubai. In addition, it initiated more than 20,000 outbound calls, 550 online chats and over 50 faxes.

  • UAE:Dubai eGov't calls upon customers to voice their opinions on ICT usage and gov't online services

    Dubai eGovernment has launched an online customer survey on Dubai.ae to measure customers' ICT usage for completing their transactions with local government departments and gauge their satisfaction with government online services.

    The survey, which is exclusively targeted at Dubai based citizens and residents, calls upon university students, working professionals, home-makers and retirees to ensure their opinion counts most for future planning and delivery of newer online services for the Emirate of Dubai.

  • UAE:Dubai eGov't launches direct debit solutions to facilitate ePayments for government transactions

    Dubai eGovernment in association with Dubai Municipality, Etisalat and Commercial Bank of Dubai today announced the launch of its Direct Debit payment system aimed at facilitating direct debit payments capitalizing on Internet banking channels.

    Account holders from Commercial Bank of Dubai can now pay for all eGovernment services through Direct Debit in real time with immediate updation in their records.

  • UAE:Dubai eGov't partners with key government ministries to implement federal eGovernment initiative

    Dubai eGovernment announced on the sidelines of its GITEX participation, its strategic partnership with six federal government ministries to implement the federal eGovernment initiative. The ministries, which Dubai eGovernment has partnered with, include the Ministry of Development for Government Sector (MoDGS), Ministry of Finance and Industry, Ministry of Environment and Water, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Public Works, and Zakat Fund.

  • UAE:Dubai eGov't to showcase more than 2,000 services from 28 different government entities at Gitex

    In line with its 'Customer comes first' strategy, Dubai eGovernment Department has announced that it will conduct a presentation of more than 2,000 eServices being offered by 28 government departments during its participation at the 'Gitex Technology Week 2010', which will be held from October 17 to 21 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

    Dubai eGovernment further revealed that it has upgraded its Gitex website (http://gitex.dubai.ae) to provide information about all the participating government entities and the eServices being provided. The Gitex website will also offer comprehensive coverage about the daily activities of the event, including lectures, press conferences and concluded agreements.

    Session highlights Dubai’s leading experience in provision of eServices

    Dubai eGovernment (DeG) recently hosted a special session as part of the 3rd Emirati-American Young Leaders Cultural Exchange Program at its headquarters in the Ruler’s Court in Dubai. The event was attended by DeG Director-General H.E. Ahmed Bin Humaidan and DeG CEO Thani Abdulla Al Zaffin.

    During the session, Bin Humaidan discussed Dubai’s pioneering experience in digital transformation, outlining DeG’s strategies for enhancing the performance and efficiency of eServices and its methodologies for restructuring and automating government transactions, thereby upgrading its public services.

    Dubai eGovernment extends complete support to ensure smooth functioning of its robust payment gateway

    Dubai eGovernment announced today at a press conference that Dubai Police has extended the scope of its ePay service by installing Points of Sale (POS) terminals at Dubai Police departments, which will facilitate easy payment of traffic fines and other related fees using the credit cards. The move is expected to significantly benefit those who personally visit Dubai Police departments to make payments, and also people who do not have easy access to the internet to carry out such online transactions.

    The Emirates Identity Authority (EIA) is exhibiting the latest smart card technologies being used in the production of the new Identity Card at GITEX.

    The introduction of the new high-tech card is considered one of the largest technical projects of its kind in the Middle East.

    Dr. Saeed Al Dhaheri, Director-General of EIA, said the Authority is using GITEX to showcase the latest technical features being used by EIA to design the new card and ensure it meets the highest security standards.

  • UAE:Implementation of eProject system for tracking fed. gov't projects reviewed

    The UAE Ministry of Finance and Industry (MoFI)'s e-government team today discussed the latest developments in the implementation plan of eProject system with H.E Ibrahim Abdul Malik, Under Secretary- Ministry of Public Works (MoPW).

    Held in the Ministry of Public Works headquarter, the meeting was attended by Dr. Emir Mavani, the Federal e-Government Programme Director at MoFI, and officials from eCompany Etisalat's one-stop e-powerhouse business unit which is the technical partner of Federal e-government for all the ICT needs of the project.

  • UAE:Interior Ministry:Obtaining of ID card is a precondition for accepting transactions for services

    Emirates Identity Authority (EIDA) has agreed with the Ministry of Finance to integrate its E-dirham into the ID card. EIDA has also partnered with the Ministry of Interior for using the card for passing through the e-gate at national airports.

    The scope of use of the ID card will be expanded when all nationals and expatriate residents were registered in the PRIDC to include data of other services like the health and labour cards, e-commerce transactions, driving licence, passports.
